POS Integration

| POS Integration | POS Connect is a set of purpose-built APIs to seamlessly connect retailers' point of sale with the AIR platform. These APIs allow a retailer's POS System to connect with Eagle Eye in real-time and enables consumer transactions to be checked against any valid promotions, with an immediately response with a discount or reward. |
| Open | This API lets the POS start a new transaction; it includes information about the transaction and instructions on what we should calculate. Our response contains the requested calculations. |
| Settle | This API lets the POS close an existing transaction. A Settle is performed after a customer has paid for their purchases. Settle performs actions on impacted accounts such as crediting points earned and redeeming coupons. |
| Account APIs | APIs that allow a POS to interact with individual accounts directly outside of an Open/ Settle flow e.g. loading a new gift card with currency |
| Timezone Support | POS Connect supports the ability to validate a promotion using local time wherever the redemption is taking place. |

Unit Configuration

| Unit Configuration | Enables clients to set up POS Connect to specify which events, filters and transaction types are processed. This is currently available via API. |
| Attribute Points Across Multiple Basket Items | This enables points campaigns to attach each instance of a reward to multiple items within the basket when there are multiple qualifying items, not only the first item. |
Permission Engine

| Managing Permissions | The permission engine holds a set of rules that determine whether a customer has permission to perform certain actions. The only available permission is described below. |
| Points Spend Permission | This permission allows clients to control whether it is possible for a consumer to spend points. The default value is true ie. everyone can always spend points. |
| Errors | The permission engine enables rules to be set up that determine whether a transaction should error or not. |
Filters and Exclusions

| Filters | POS Connect's unit configuration allows businesses to configure and filter what is processed as part of a POS Connect transaction. This can currently be filtered by account types, statuses, and states. |
| Exclude Coupons | The ability to choose coupons within a wallet to ignore during adjudication. This can be used when a consumer would like to prevent the use of a coupon and save it for a future transaction. |

Offers
Item | Description |

Tender | Provide consumers with a part payment towards the basket value without removing the amount from the cost of a product or final basket amount. This can be done via:

Physical Coupons | Allow consumers to use physical paper coupons that may not be in their wallet at the point of transaction. For example, a coupon that you had printed at till the last time you visited. This is only currently compatible with token accounts, and not barcodes. |
Manual Redemption | It is possible to pass in a token or account ID and for a redemption to be processed against that coupon without the need for adjudication. This can be used to register redemptions against GS1 barcodes. |
Open Offers | Open Offers allow any consumer access to promotions without the need to pre-target them with a coupon for the desired promotion, and are also able to handle Member-only offers if a consumer identity is provided with the basket items. For example, double points weekend or get £5 off transactions over £150 throughout June. |
Targeted Offers | Targeted offers are offers that have been pre-selected for the consumer and added to the consumer's digital wallet. |
Locking
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Locking | Accounts can be locked when performing a wallet/open. The purpose of this is to help reduce fraud so the same coupons can’t be used in multiple transactions at the same time. Lock time can be specified at the unit level and overridden as part of wallet/open. Unlimited-use coupons will not be locked. |
| Points Locking | Points Account balances can be locked when performing a wallet/open. This means that those points cannot be used in another transaction. |
