Earn Rules
Base Earn Rules
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Standard | The most simple earn rate. Set a number of points that will be earned and the increments they will be earned. For example “Get 5 points per £1 spent” |
Fixed Points | This configuration allows for a set number of points to be earned per tier. For example, spend between £1-10 and get 1 point, £11-20 get 5 points and £21+ and get 15 points. |
Points per Spend | Set the number of points per spend increment (as per Standard) to be awarded by tier. For example, spend between £1-10 and get 1 point per £1, spend between £11-20 and get 2 points per £1 spent. |
Earn Rate Overrides | Allow for a default base earn setup to be overridden by different rates. This requires an override key to be configured and passed in the earn request. For example this would allow some consumers to earn additional earn rates for credit card purchases. |
Earn Product Exclusions | There is an option against all schemes to include or exclude products from earning base earn points. |
Grace Amounts | The ability to set an amount that the qualifying spend can be rounded by in order to reach the next base earn award e.g. when base earn is 1 point per $1 spent, with a 2c grace amount, when the customer pays $1.98, the amount is rounded to $2 and the customer would recieve 2 points. |
Rounding Rules | The ability to round up the number of points earned e.g. when points are work $0.005 only award points in even numbers |
Rules per Company unit | Configure a child company unit to either inherit the same base earn rules as it's parent unit, or use it's own set of rules. This is particularly useful if there is a need to apply different rules across multiple brands within an organisational portfolio or across different geographies. |
Guard Rails (Earn Restrictions) | The ability to protect your business proactively by enabling earning ceilings using several mechanism such as; Total Points Earn Limit. Add the maximum number of points that can be earned into points accounts. Set the maximum volume of UPCs bought that can be awarded Base Earn points. For example; When set to 5 and if a customer buys 7 of the same UPC in the same transaction Base Earn is only awarded for the first 5 items. Useful for B2B retailers like wholesalers or mass market retailers. Points Limit over a period of time. Set the volume of points and period (Days, Weeks, Months) that a points account can earn. For example, you can set a limit of 1,000 points in a single day to help proactively prevent fraud. Volume of Transactions that can contribute to Base Earn over a period of time (Day). For example, you can set this limit to 3 and if a wallet has a 4th (or more) transaction no base earn will be applied. This is designed to proactively prevent staff fraud and the volume should be set depending on average customer daily interactions. |
