Schemes

Overview

Schemes are the foundation of Eagle Eye Real Time Loyalty and hold the business rules and configuration for a points loyalty scheme. This configuration covers everything from the validity dates, the base earn rates, the points spend rules, points expiry rules etc.

Schemes support AIR Wallet functionality, allowing customers to access their points balance via online channels and earn and burn their points at the point of sale.

Schemes can be created and managed via the Scheme API and AIR dashboard.

Once a loyalty scheme has been set up in AIR it can be used in several different ways by customers. These are detailed in the following sections:

  • Campaign Reward - When creating a points-based campaign to award points to a customer, the campaign gets linked to the scheme allowing points to be delivered to a specific scheme account in the customer's wallet.
  • Social and Behavioural Actions (Triggers) - A scheme account can be the target of a Social and Behavioural Action. E.g. Complete an online survey and get awarded 1000 points. All the configuration of the reward is set inside AIR meaning all the retailer needs to do is call a single endpoint with the detail of the action completed and AIR takes care of the issuance of the reward (in this instance, the addition of points to the customers points account).
  • Reward Bank & Points Exchange - A collection of campaigns can be configured to form a 'Reward Bank' in which customers can receive a coupon, in exchange for points e.g. A customer has accumulated 1000 points. They now qualify to redeem these points in exchange for a reward. This reward could be a free drink that will cost the consumer 100 Points or a free sandwich that will cost the consumer 500 Points.
  • Budgeting - Cost centres or internal departments can fund a scheme. This is where a pot of points is purchased so that when a loyalty transaction occurs the relevant number of points is deducted from the Budget into the customer’s points account. The same can apply in reverse on a credit transaction.
  • Goodwill - An AIR dashboard user can issue points as goodwill to their customer base. Limits and restrictions can be placed on goodwill issuance to limit fraudulent use.
  • Gifting - Points can be gifted to another customer, e.g. a customer earns points whilst shopping at a stationer and those points can be gifted to my child’s school or another customer gifts half of their points balance to a friend's account.
  • Relationships - A customer may be a member of more than one scheme, if the schemes are added as a relation of each other, the customer will be able to see and use points from both schemes as one balance.
